Going over Proper aftercare is essential for your client to achieve beautiful, lasting results.
The final outcome depends heavily on how well your client cares for their brows in the days and weeks following your treatment. I have outlined every step of the aftercare process and the "WHY" for each step.
You are the brow expert so it's important for you to know "what and why" of every service you offer. This is important so you can thoroughly answer every client's question and show that you are a true professional.

Day 1
Lightly wet the gauze that’s provided with filtered/bottled water. Gently dab brows with wet gauze every 2-3 hours. This is only done on the day of the service.
This gentle dabbing helps to remove lymph fluid, which can rise to the surface after the procedure. If left unchecked, the lymph can harden and form thick scabs, potentially causing uneven healing and patchiness in the pigment. Lightly dabbing keeps the area clean, reduces scabbing, and encourages a smoother, more even result as the brows heal.

Day 2
Cleanse:
Cleanse brows with the gentle cleanser provided every morning and night. Use a pea size drop of soap and mix with water than apply to brows. Lightly rinse brows and dab dry.
Cleansing stops once all scabs have fallen off naturally.
Cleansing freshly tattooed brows with a gentle cleanser helps remove any buildup of oil, dirt, or lymph fluid, which can lead to infection or irritation if left on the skin. A gentle cleanse maintains a clean environment for healing, reduces the risk of complications, and prevents the formation of thick scabs, which can affect the evenness and longevity of the pigment. Regular, gentle cleansing supports a smoother healing process and helps ensure that the final results are as even and vibrant as possible.
Day 2
Moisturize:
Moisturize brows after cleansing in the morning and at night.
Clients with regular to dry skin: use ointment provided. Lightly apply a small amount of ointment on a q tip and gently spread over the brow. A little goes along way!
Clients with oily skin: will spray the witch hazel provided after cleansing in the morning and at night. Spray witch hazel in the air and let it gently fall on brows. Avoid spraying brows directly.
Moisturizing stops once all scabs have fallen off naturally.
Moisturizing freshly tattooed brows is essential because it keeps the skin hydrated, promoting a smoother and more comfortable healing process. A light, nourishing moisturizer creates a protective barrier, reducing dryness and itchiness that can lead to flaking or scabbing. By preventing excessive scabbing, moisturizing also helps retain more pigment, resulting in a more even, long-lasting color.
After all scabs have fallen off naturally, client can go back to their regular skin routine [but continue avoiding any harsh acids such as Retinols, Tretinoin, etc].
Daily sunscreen use is recommended after brows heal. Applying sunscreen once the skin has started to heal protects the tattoo's vibrancy since UV rays can cause the pigment to fade prematurely, altering the color and sharpness of the tattoo. Sun exposure can also irritate the healing skin, potentially leading to inflammation or prolonged healing.
Do's & Dont's

Allowing scabs to fall off naturally after getting brows tattooed is essential for the best healing results. This needs to be highlighted before the service when going over aftercare to clients. Picking or pulling at scabs can remove pigment from the skin, leading to patchy or uneven results, AND it increases the risk of infection and scarring. Letting scabs shed on their own preserves the color and shape, ensuring a smoother and more even final look.
Follow these essential do’s and don’ts to get the best healed results possible.
