A big part of brow lamination is the aftercare process. Proper aftercare is essential and will keep your clients coming back.
Instructing clients to keep their brows dry for 1–2 days is not enough and can compromise both the lamination results and the health of their brows.
First, we must understand—and explain to the client—why it’s important to keep brows dry for the first 24 hours after a lamination.
After step 3 of the lamination process, which is typically a keratin or conditioning treatment, the brows must remain dry so the treatment can fully nourish the brow hairs. This process takes approximately 24 hours. Getting the brows wet too soon won’t necessarily reverse the lamination but could affect how well the hair absorbs the treatment.
Once the brows have fully absorbed the conditioning treatment, clients should be instructed to moisturize their brows daily for the next 1–2 weeks. It's highly recommended to provide an aftercare oil so your clients have the proper tools to keep their brows healthy and hydrated.
Let's Breakdown the Aftercare Process Step By Step

Water and Steam Must Be Avoided for the Next 24 hours
As explained earlier, brows must be kept dry for the next 24 hours so the moisturizing treatment can be fully absorbed. If for any reason, water is in contact with the brows, client must reapply some kind of conditioning treatment [preferably one that's given to them by the brow technician.] If none is given then client can apply penetrating oils such as argon or jojoba oil.
Steam can cause the brow hairs to swell, loosen, or become frizzy before the treatment fully sets, leading to less defined brows and potentially shortening the lamination's lifespan. This can result in unruly, hard-to-manage brows, which defeats the purpose of a smooth, sleek finish.

Moisturizing Treatment Should Be Applied Daily
Clients should apply a moisturizing treatment that's included in their aftercare bag or an oil/cream recommended to them. This is essential in guaranteeing that their brows remain healthy after the lamination process. Without daily moisturizing, brow hair can become dry and brittle leading to breakage.
