A booking system is a necessity when it comes to your brow or beauty business. It keeps your appointments organized, makes taking deposits a breeze, and saves you time by cutting out the back and forth in your DMs.

Let's compare the most popular options to see what would work best for you.

💡 Square
Square is a free and user-friendly platform ideal for solo artists just starting out. It allows you to take deposits through a pre-pay setup, offers integrated point-of-sale (POS) features, and has solid reputation for reliability. However, the customization is limited unless you pay for the premium version.

💡 GlossGenius
GlossGenius stands out for its aesthetic, modern design that looks professional to clients and is easy to use. It’s a paid platform, but it includes features like customizable websites, payment processing, and automated reminders. It also supports deposits, which helps protect your time.

💡 Vagaro
Vagaro is a powerful system with tons of tools beyond booking—like inventory management, marketing, and client notes. It’s especially useful for growing studios or solo artists who want an all-in-one system. Deposits are supported, but the interface may feel a bit more technical compared to others.

💡 Fresha
Fresha is popular in the beauty industry for its no-monthly-fee structure and sleek booking experience. Instead of charging a subscription, it makes money through optional features like credit card processing or promotions. While it doesn’t support mandatory deposits natively, it does let you securely store cards and charge fees for no-shows.

💡 Acuity Scheduling (by Squarespace)
Acuity offers great flexibility with customizable scheduling options and automated forms. It’s perfect for artists who want to tailor the booking flow or need more control over availability. You can take deposits or full payments in advance, but the design isn’t as beauty-industry focused as others.

💡 GoDaddy
Simple, fast, and great for those who already use GoDaddy for their website. It includes built-in booking, deposit setup, and same-day payment access—making it a solid no-frills option.

I personally like GoDaddy because of the ease of use on the backend as well as the ease of use on my clients' end. I also love that for an additional $10 a month, I can add my own online store to retail my products online. But you choose what’s best for you, boo!
